Plans, free trial and billing
The three plans and what they include, how the 7-day free trial and first charge work, how to change or cancel your plan in the Stripe portal, and what to do if a payment fails.
Plans, free trial and billing
Every Clavoz workspace runs on a paid subscription, and every subscription starts with a
7-day free trial. There is one thing to know before you click anything: the trial still asks for
a payment method up front, and it charges $0.00 today.
The three plans
Prices are per workspace, per month, and the annual option bills one payment a year at two months
free.
| Starter | Pro (most popular) | Enterprise | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Monthly | $39/mo | $89/mo | $179/mo |
| Billed annually | $390/yr, 2 months free | $890/yr, 2 months free | $1,790/yr, 2 months free |
| Built for | Solo contractors getting off spreadsheets | Growing crews quoting every day | Multi-crew companies and restoration firms |
| Listed features | 25 quotes a month · parametric assemblies · branded PDF proposals · 1-click digital sign-off · basic clients list | Unlimited quotes · insurance PDF parser · rate catalog + trade autocorrect · Google Contacts sync & CSV/vCard import · master contract attachments · analytics dashboard | Everything in Pro · unlimited team members · custom assembly library · priority support · onboarding & data migration |
Prices and feature lists are what the /pricing page shows, and that page is the source of truth
for what you are buying — if a figure here ever disagrees with it, trust the pricing page.
Starting the trial, and when the first charge lands
- Create your account at
/register. You can arrive with a plan pre-selected
(/register?plan=pro&interval=month) or just browse the pricing page afterwards. - Pick a plan on
/pricing— monthly or annual, then Start Free Trial. - Stripe Checkout opens. A card, which can be charged again automatically —
that is the point of collecting one. $0.00 is due today. - Checkout returns you to your dashboard (
/dashboard?session_id=...) and the trial begins.
Seven days later the subscription renews automatically at the plan price for the interval you
chose. Cancel before day 7 and nothing is charged. Card details are collected at
sign-up because a trial whose day-7 charge fails is not a trial — it is an outage.
If you close the checkout window, your workspace is marked as awaiting payment, and the app
keeps sending you back to /pricing to finish rather than letting you work in a workspace nobody
is paying for. Nothing is lost — your account, settings and any work you did are still there. And
if you back out of Stripe itself you land on /pricing?canceled=1 with a straight answer:
"Checkout canceled — your trial is still waiting. No problem, pick a plan whenever you're ready."
Where your plan lives: settings → billing & plan
The Billing tab of Settings shows:
- Current plan: Starter / Pro / Enterprise, with a status chip — active, trialing,
past due or canceled. - While the trial is genuinely running: "N days remaining in your free trial" and your
First billing date. - Before you have a subscription: "No subscription yet — every plan starts with a free 7-day
trial." That line also promises "No credit card required", which the checkout itself does not
honour — Stripe asks for a card either way, at $0.00 due.
Changing, cancelling, invoices and receipts
Everything money-related is handled by Stripe, not by Clavoz — Clavoz never sees or stores your card
number.
- Manage Billing in Stripe Portal (and Manage Subscription & Invoices below it) opens the
Stripe customer portal: change the card, download past invoices, switch plan or interval, cancel. - Choose a plan takes you to
/pricing; Upgrade or change billing interval takes you there
too, ready for a plan change. - Subscriptions are billed through Stripe Checkout, and you receive an email invoice after each
payment.
If a payment fails
Your status flips to past due and a red banner appears across the top of the app on every page:
Payment failed: please update your billing details to avoid interruption of service.
Update Payment Method
That banner cannot be dismissed, unlike the email-verification nudge. A failed payment ends in lost
access on Stripe's schedule, not yours, so hiding it would mean hiding the one notice that actually
matters. Fix the card in Settings → Billing and the status returns to active.
Comped and admin accounts
If your workspace has been comped by an operator, or you are the platform admin, the Billing tab
shows an amber badge instead of a plan to buy, and there is nothing to check out — the app says so
plainly rather than sending you into a Stripe error.
