Cookie policy

The small amount of information Clavoz and its providers store in your browser, and why.

Cookie policy

Draft for legal review. Last updated: 5 October 2026.

Clavoz keeps browser storage to the minimum the app needs to work. We use
no advertising or analytics cookies and no third-party tracking.

What Clavoz stores in your browser

Name Type Purpose How long

bq_theme Local storage Remembers light mode, dark mode or "match my phone" Until you clear it
bq_palette Local storage Remembers the colour-blind friendly palette setting Until you clear it
bq_font Local storage Remembers the dyslexia-friendly font setting Until you clear it
bq_text Local storage Remembers the larger text setting Until you clear it
bq_motion Local storage Remembers the reduce motion setting Until you clear it
bq_sidebar Local storage Remembers whether the sidebar is collapsed Until you clear it
bq_downloads_<quote id> Local storage Remembers which generated PDFs this browser has downloaded for that quote Until you clear it
bq_verify_dismissed Local storage Remembers that you dismissed the "confirm your email" reminder Until you clear it
bq_voice_notice_dismissed Local storage Remembers that you dismissed the quote builder's "voice is typed in your browser" notice Until you clear it
bq_show_costs Local storage Remembers whether the quote builder shows your "My cost" and "Markup" columns Until you clear it
bq_setup_folded Local storage Remembers that you folded the "Finish setting up" card away on the Settings page Until you clear it
bq_walk_hands_free Local storage Remembers whether "Walk with me" listens hands-free, so the phone needs one tap instead of a held thumb Until you clear it
bq_walk_voice Local storage Remembers whether the questions are read out loud in "Walk with me" and the walkthrough review Until you clear it
bq_parse_draft Session storage Remembers which draft an insurance estimate import was being saved into, so a reload puts the work back Until you close the tab
bq_nav_dir Session storage Remembers which way you moved so the Back and Forward buttons know whether there is a page to go forward to; this tab only Until you close the tab

These are strictly necessary (or simple preferences you set yourself), so
they do not need consent.

Cookies Clavoz sets

Name Purpose How long
cz_device Security. A long random string that identifies this browser — not you, and not your device's fingerprint — so we can email you when your account is signed in from a machine we have not seen before, and so repeated sign-ins from the same browser are not reported as new. It is HttpOnly (page scripts cannot read it), Secure on HTTPS and SameSite=Lax. 365 days

cz_device is strictly necessary for account security, so it does not need
consent either. It contains no personal information; clearing it only means the
next sign-in from this browser is treated as a new device and the history on the
Security card looks less familiar.

Cookies set by providers

  • Google sets cookies such as g_state when you use Sign in with
    Google
    . See Google's privacy policy.
  • Stripe sets cookies on its own checkout and billing pages to process
payments securely and prevent fraud. See Stripe's privacy and cookie policy.

These only appear when you use those features.

Managing storage

You can clear cookies and site data in your browser settings at any time.
Clearing Clavoz's storage signs you out and resets your theme.

Changes

We will update this page if what we store changes, and tell you if we ever
add optional cookies that need your consent.
